During the two days, I worked with a great team - the Curtain Gang - of students from different programmes and years to solve real challenges that publishers currently face. Although we have never met before, in less than 18 hours we worked on a brief to make a crowdfunding campaign for Cassava Republic Press.
We made surveys, researched platforms, analyzed social media, and ended up creating a fantastic campaign that can actually be really successful. We even created a logo and ended up being in third place in the competition which was such a great reward for all the hard, but fun, work we had.
I was in charge of all the visual content which let me be creative as I love and of all the marketing and audience research, as well as the social media strategy.
This was a great and exciting way to gain some more experience, work with new people, and improve some skills that will certainly be really useful in my future. It definitely taught me a lot about marketing, problem-solving, content creation, crowdfunding, and publishing.
